myExperience Northwell: You Accepted the Offer but Preboarding Still Hasn’t Moved Forward — Check the RMI Step

You received your Northwell offer.

You reviewed it.

You accepted it electronically.

Then you wait for the rest of onboarding to start.

And nothing seems to happen.

One important detail can explain the apparent standstill:

Accepting the offer isn’t the end of Northwell’s preboarding process.

For the applicable Northwell onboarding workflow, another step follows the offer acceptance: RMI — Request for More Information.

If that step isn’t completed, the rest of preboarding may not move forward as expected.

Offer Accepted and RMI Completed Are Two Different Milestones

It’s easy to mentally combine them.

You accepted the job, so you assume:

“Northwell has everything it needs from me now.”

Not necessarily.

Northwell describes the sequence separately:

1. Review and electronically accept the offer.

2. Receive and complete the Request for More Information.

The RMI begins the next part of the preboarding process in myExperience.

That distinction matters when you’re trying to understand why nothing else has arrived yet.

Look for the Additional Information Request

After electronic offer acceptance, Northwell says the RMI communication is sent by email with the title:

“Additional Information Required”

Don’t search only for emails containing words like:

Welcome
Onboarding
Orientation
New Hire

The message you’re waiting for may not use those terms.

If you accepted the offer but haven’t progressed, check whether the RMI communication arrived and was overlooked.

Don’t Assume Opening the RMI Means You Finished It

This is another easy mistake.

You open the request.

Enter some information.

Get interrupted.

Close the page.

A few days later, you remember completing “that Northwell form.”

But opening or partially filling out a task isn’t necessarily the same thing as successfully completing it.

Return to the applicable myExperience workflow and verify whether anything remains unfinished.

Why the RMI Matters

For Northwell’s documented preboarding sequence, completing the RMI is tied to receiving the credentials needed for the next phase.

After the RMI is completed, Northwell says the new team member should receive account-provisioning information that includes the Universal ID, followed by the process for creating a password.

So if you’re waiting for credentials, start earlier in the chain.

Ask:

Was the offer accepted?

Then:

Was the RMI actually completed?

Only then does it make sense to troubleshoot the next step.

Don’t Keep Resetting a Password You Haven’t Received Yet

Suppose you’re expecting to enter myExperience for the remaining preboarding tasks but still don’t have the appropriate Northwell credentials.

Repeatedly attempting password recovery may be solving the wrong problem.

First establish whether your Universal ID has actually been provisioned.

If the RMI step hasn’t been completed, you’re troubleshooting too far ahead in the process.

Watch for the Account Provisioning Email

Northwell identifies another communication that follows completion of the RMI:

“Important: Log-In Information”

That message includes the Universal ID.

This gives you a useful checkpoint.

If you have:

Offer acceptance — yes
RMI completion — yes
Universal ID email — no

you’ve narrowed the problem considerably.

That’s much more useful than saying:

“My onboarding doesn’t work.”

Preboarding Is a Chain of Separate Requirements

Getting the Universal ID isn’t the finish line either.

Northwell’s preboarding process includes multiple requirements, such as myExperience preboarding tasks, required learning, background-check steps, I-9 requirements, medical clearance, appointments, and other applicable onboarding items.

Completing one doesn’t automatically complete the others.

Think of the process as:

Offer → RMI → credentials → pending tasks and other requirements → clearance

rather than:

Offer accepted → everything done

Check Pending Tasks in myExperience

Once you have the appropriate access, don’t assume the absence of another email means there’s nothing left.

Northwell directs new team members to their pending preboarding tasks in myExperience.

Review the tasks themselves.

An item can be waiting for you even when you’re expecting someone to personally contact you about every next action.

Required Learning Is Its Own Step

Training deserves separate attention.

Northwell also directs new team members to required compliance learning in myExperience.

Completing personal-information tasks doesn’t automatically mean the required learning is complete.

Likewise, finishing training doesn’t prove every other preboarding requirement has cleared.

Treat each requirement according to its own status.

Background Check Communications May Come Separately

Not every preboarding message necessarily comes from the same sender.

Northwell’s documented process includes a third-party background-check provider.

That means watching only for myExperience messages can cause you to overlook another required action.

When you’re in preboarding, pay attention to the entire process rather than expecting one Northwell page to represent every external requirement.

The Same Goes for I-9 Requirements

I-9 completion is another distinct part of the process.

Don’t assume that because you supplied personal information through RMI, you’ve automatically completed every identity or employment-eligibility requirement.

Different tasks can request information for different purposes.

Finish the specific requirement presented to you.

Medical Clearance Is Not the Same as HR Preboarding

You can also be progressing through Team Member Health Services requirements while other HR-related tasks remain outstanding.

One appointment being completed doesn’t prove the entire preboarding process is finished.

This is especially important when several activities are happening during the same week.

Keep track of them individually.

Your Preboarding Specialist Is Another Checkpoint

Northwell’s process also includes contact from a preboarding specialist who helps coordinate the pre-hire process and appointments.

If something in the sequence doesn’t match what you’ve received, be specific when describing where you are.

For example:

Offer electronically accepted: October 3
RMI email received: October 3
RMI completed: October 4
Universal ID email: Not received

That’s actionable.

Compare it with:

“I accepted the job but onboarding is stuck.”

The second description forces someone to reconstruct the entire process from the beginning.

Don’t Submit the Same Information Repeatedly

When progress seems slow, repeatedly resubmitting forms can create more confusion.

Before doing anything again, determine whether the original task shows as completed or whether another requirement is actually waiting.

The next step may have nothing to do with repeating the previous one.

“Cleared to Start” Is the Important Final Milestone

Even after you’ve completed the RMI and gained access to the remaining tasks, don’t independently conclude that you’re fully cleared.

Northwell’s documented process says that once the required pre-hire items are complete, the Preboarding team communicates that the new team member is cleared to start.

That’s a different milestone from:

Offer accepted

or:

I can access myExperience

or:

I finished my training

Each tells you something different about your progress.

Troubleshoot the Process in Order

If Northwell preboarding seems stuck, reconstruct the sequence instead of randomly reopening forms.

Check:

Was the offer electronically accepted?

Did the “Additional Information Required” RMI arrive?

Was the RMI actually completed?

Did the Universal ID information arrive afterward?

Can you see outstanding myExperience preboarding tasks?

Are separate requirements such as training, background check, I-9, medical clearance, or appointments still pending?

Have you actually received confirmation that you’re cleared to start?

The first missing step is usually much more useful than the last page you happened to open.

Accepting the Northwell offer gets the process moving. Completing the RMI is one of the key steps that allows it to keep moving.
